Let me begin by saying I absolutely loved this movie! If you’re looking for one to watch with your family, this movie is purr-fect for you! The famous duo, Thomas “Tom”, the cat and Jerome “Jerry”, the mouse, appear on the television show—‘Tom and Jerry’. These two are constantly at odds with each other. Jerry teases Tom, who tries to get hold of Jerry. However, Jerry always manages to escape using his wit, while Tom makes a complete fool of himself. He then tries to get back at Jerry, which results in a vicious cycle!

As you would expect, it’s filled with comedy; in fact, I can assure you that you will let out a laugh every 5-10 minutes while watching the movie! Tom and Jerry  is a combination of live action and animation, which I personally found not-so-great… at first! But as the movie progressed, I noticed that it added a nice, playful touch, mixing fantasy and comedy with reality. I also noticed that a few gags were very similar to that of the past TV episodes. This was a little disappointing, considering there was good potential for a few new gags and jokes.

About the narrative, the story starts with Jerry, who finds that a hotel would be a nice place to call ‘home’, and happens to choose the prestigious ‘Royal Gate Hotel’ where we meet Kayla (the protagonist), a new employee. She struggles to prove herself by attempting to chase Jerry out of the hotel and hires Tom to help her out. On top of that, she scrambles to perfectly organize a very important wedding, while Tom and Jerry trouble and help along the way. And when I say ‘along the way’, I mean the entire movie (no complaints!).

It’s fun to watch Tom and Jerry bicker AND bond throughout the film, which is contradictory to what they always do. I also liked the fact that the producers added another focus to the movie, other than just Tom and Jerry’s disagreements (I mean fights). The movie is jam-packed with laughter, adventure, liveliness and emotion, which is THE definition of entertainment.

I’m going to wrap this up by saying that this movie is worth one hour and forty-one minutes of your time, so don’t forget to add it to your watchlist. Get ready for a new adventure with your favourite—Tom & Jerry!
