Once in the future, the people of Earth were struggling to breathe. Many plants began suddenly disappearing and the oxygen levels in the atmosphere were decreasing. Many scientists tried to figure out the cause of the disaster, which would spell the end of the world, if left unchecked.

The space research centre reported mysterious flying objects crashing into the Earth’s surface, leaving no trace except for a big hole in the ground. People began reporting their beautiful gardens and farms suddenly disappearing.

Little Anish was a curious boy from a small town. He heard about these strange happenings in the news. He wanted desperately to find a solution to save planet Earth. He had a vast backyard with lots of fruit trees and flowering plants. He wanted do help avert the catastrophe and decided to keep watch over his backyard.

One night, he heard the sudden rustling of leaves in the trees. He thought it might be the wind but he had a hunch to check it out. When he peeped out of his bedroom window, he saw a tree being lifted up in the air and chopped up before disappearing in a matter of seconds. The same thing happened with many plants and trees in his garden.

The next day, Little Anish devised a plan. He installed neon lights in his garden and set up a tent to investigate the unusual happenings. He also rented a pair of X-ray and night vision goggles and informed his parents that he was camping in the tent in the backyard for the night. Soon, he fell asleep but was woken up by a horrid nightmare. He witnessed the same happenings from the previous night. When he put on his X-ray goggles, he was shocked to discover a mysterious, terrifying, inhuman creature. But brave, little Anish ventured into the dark and said, “Hello, who are you? Where are you from?”

The creature turned around and faced the boy. It replied “Hello, I am Ray. I am a Martian and I come in peace.” Anish was thrilled to meet a Martian for the first time in his life. Anish asked Ray the reason behind his visiting Earth and eating up the plants. Ray replied, “I lived with my parents happily on Mars, but there was an asteroid that crashed into Mars and drove us all to live underground on Mars. The asteroid wiped off all the flora on our planet. Our people very on the brink of starvation for many years before finding the green planet called Earth. We came here in our spaceships to feed.”

Little Anish felt sorry for Ray. Seeing him so desperate, he decided to help him. Suddenly, he remembered the seeds that his mother had stored in containers in the kitchen cabinet. He dashed towards the kitchen with a huge sack. He filled up the sack with different kinds of seeds and gave it to Ray. He also passed on the knowledge on how to plant the seeds and grow plants.

Ray felt grateful for this kind gesture from his human friend and in return, Ray also gifted him a precious Martian gemstone for him to remember him by.

Ray informed all his friends through his sonic signals about the help received from Little Anish and they decided to collect as many seeds from Earth and depart Earth for good. Thus the Humans and the Martians lived happily ever after.
