Once upon a time, in Chirpy forest, there lived a lonely firefly called Fleo. As there wasn’t anybody else from her clan to accompany her, Fleo often skipped her nightly parade and stayed indoors. One fine day, Fleo decided to venture out in the daytime. Even though the other inhabitants of the forest welcomed her, she felt sad. She longed to see someone similar to her.

Suddenly she heard a loud roar. All the animals started fleeing for their lives. Fleo, too, hid herself behind a tree. It was Roary, the King of the forest and his minister, Fixo the fox. Without the light emitting from her body, she resembled a fly and that made her unnoticeable. The king and the minister were talking about the theft of the royal crown.

“What happened, Fleo? Why do you look sad?” asked Squirmy the worm, who was sitting on the same branch of the tree. Fleo shared her thoughts with Squirmy to lessen her sorrow. Squirmy tried to help Fleo and advised her to look for somebody who glowed just like her during her nightly parade.

Fleo returned home and started out for her nightly parade in the hope of meeting someone like her. Since, it was her first time, she met many nocturnal beings like Mr. B, the Bat; Civvy, the Civet; Owly, the Owl; and Niko, the snake. But nobody glowed like her.

Giving up hope, she raised her head towards the sky but was startled to see something shining there. Fleo’s joy knew no bounds and she sped towards the source of the glow.

It was Starry the star. Starry was also lonely. He was also in search of a friend. The other stars avoided him since he had only four rays instead of five. So, he usually stayed alone.

Meanwhile, Fleo was shocked to discover that Starry was a star and not a firefly. But that didn’t stop her from befriending Starry. They spoke about a lot of things and were having a merry time, when Starry noticed some fireflies flying through the outskirts of the forest.

Starry and Fleo flew down to investigate. As they came closer to the fireflies, they discovered that it was the royal crown. Since it had precious jewels embedded in it, it resembled a group of fireflies moving in the darkness. Somebody was trying to sneak the crown out of the jungle. Without losing time, Fleo started stinging the thief. And Starry went on to alert the King and his guards.

Finally, Fleo defeated the thief, who was none other than Fixo, the sly fox. King Roary banished Fixo and appointed Fleo and Starry as the official detective-duo of Chirpy forest. And, Fleo and Starry spent the rest of their lives solving crimes.
