If you ever get a pup,
And gotta go to work,
Here’s how life will be,
And the surprises that will lurk.
You will be staying up many a night,
And won’t be able to sleep right,
If you try and catch a nap,
All you hear will be yap yap yap!
And your pup will pee
Wherever he wants,
And you will have to clean
All his little haunts.
Don’t leave your books around,
Only to come back
And find the remains
Of his midday snack.
And upon your precious sofa,
Scratch… rip, that’s how he’ll start,
But he’ll give you his puppy eye,
His weapon that will melt your heart.
And finally when he stops all that,
You can go to work in peace,
He greets you when you come back,
And now you are fully at ease.
One day when you are loaded down,
You think ‘Life feels real tough,’
But you remember a little guy,
Who greets you with his wuff wuff wuff!
And so you come home,
Smile and all,
But whoops!
Someone pooped in the hall!
