That was the sound it made when I walked down the stairs with the heels attached to me. I stopped. Everyone was staring at me, muttering something about me, I think, to the person next to them. I couldn’t help but wonder what they were saying.
Were they talking about how tall I was?
Or maybe they were talking about how beautiful I looked?
Or probably they were talking about how a 12 year old girl was wearing me. I was getting the jitters while trying to walk ahead.
But, my supreme job was to make my owner feel confident. If I could get her to walk in front of all those judgmental people, I think I could do the same for myself. Finally, I decided to walk ahead.
Today’s party was very important to my owner.
Phew! My owner put her best foot forward and the rest of the night we both were spectacular.
You must be wondering who I am.
My name is Bella and I have a twin sister named Stella. We look just alike. The only difference is that I am a righty and she is a lefty.
We both have over a thousand cousins. My mother was Miss Moo. She was a cow.
Stella and I look nothing like her.
Sadly, my mother passed away while giving birth to us. We were born in a hospital called ‘FACTORY’.
We never got to see her. However, our cousins told us how beautiful our mom was. Once, on a trip to a farm with my owner we saw doppelgangers of my mom. We both were very fascinated to see this.
Moving on, I am made out of something called, um… one second. I need a moment to remember what my skin is called.
It was Lother. No, no, lafter, no…. LEATHER!
Yes! Leather!
It makes the feet inside me warm. During the summer season when it gets very hot, I make the feet feel so warm that they start sweating….that stinks! It’s something I truly hate.
My ultimate enemy is water. It is the worst.
June and July are two months that I fear the most.

When the weather is humid, the clouds are dark and grey, and there is rain all around, I fall sick too.
I get a disease called fungus and there is no vaccine for that yet! Yet, my owner takes good care of me in sickness and in health and keeps me clean and dry. I came to her in a pretty purple shoe box. I was wrapped in a thin white soft blanket called ‘silk’.
I don’t spend a lot of time in there, but now it is the end of May and it’s the last party of the season that I will attend.
I’m quite excited to rest cozily in my silky blanket for the next few days, as I’m tired of all the walking!
