Shimpoo Snake was excited to show to her stone collection to her forest friends. She was confident that they would love her shiny stones. What she didn’t expect was that one of them would rob her! The thief took not just any stone, but her heavy and rare grey-and-yellow square stone.

She called upon the forest’s leader, Ullu Owl, to solve the case of the stolen stone. After listening to Shimpoo’s story and asking around, Ullu zeroed in on three suspects.

Bittu Beetle said, “U-ulluji, I have nothing to do with this robbery. I was just looking for a stone for my mother’s birthday gift near Shimpoo’s tree. I would never rob my friend.”

Aara Ant said, “I was looking at Shimpoo’s missing stone. But only because I wanted something similar so I could put a stop to Erik’s bragging about his rare stone collection.”

Erik Earthworm said, “I was checking if Shimpoo’s stone was as smooth as mine. After all, mine is a family heirloom. I’m disappointed to say that Shimpoo’s is a little smoother than mine. But it’s so heavy that I couldn’t check the underside. Perhaps that’s not as smooth.”

Upon hearing their stories, Ullu was confident that they had identified the thief. After all, they knew that each animal has their unique characteristics.

Who was it and how did Ullu know?
