Easy Baking Recipe with The Locavore

**Adult Supervision Required**

Ingredients:

  • â…” cup sifted refined flour or maida
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ¾ cup nuts (finely chopped)
  • ¼ cup butter (either salted or unsalted)
  • 1 egg (well-beaten)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • Baking tray
  • Oven

Method:

  1. Ask a helpful adult to melt butter and sugar in a large pot over a slow flame.
  2. To this, add the sifted flour, baking powder, egg, vanilla essence, and nuts, and whisk together till thoroughly combined. Remove from the heat and keep the mixture aside.
  3. Grease your baking tray with butter and preheat the oven.
  4. Spread the mixture you prepared in steps 1 and 2 on your baking tray and bake it at 190 degrees Celsius for about 15-20 minutes till it becomes brown.
  5. Carefully remove the baking tray and let it cool down.
  6. Cut it into thin strips and share it with your family and friends!
