Oh great Himalayas, from where our precious rivers flow,
From where the mighty Gangotri gives birth to the Ganga,
And many other great rivers flow… splash splash splash…
We humans build dams, so we survive on the precious waters
Before they make their way into the seas and oceans.

Oh great Himalayas, you are so tall and snowy,
In the early mornings, you are so snowy and foggy,
It would be so nice to chill out in a jogging run,
Perhaps we couldn’t do so, as you are standing so tall,
But if you were covered with snow, we could have done so,
However it is too cold to be there with you.

But our mighty soldiers will resist your chills,
And are always on the guard to protect India,
I am so proud to be a child of India,
You the Himalayas protect us all the time,
Because of you we can sleep peacefully at night.

You are one of the greatest beauties of nature,
If you wouldn’t have been there, we wouldn’t have enjoyed the life we live,
The rivers that flow from you carry all the rich minerals
And put them on the Northern plains turning them into the Great Food Bowl of India.

Oh great Himalayas I am thankful to you,
I wish I could come on a camping trip to the Great Himalayas and for sure will dance with joy.
